Community Easter Egg Hunt
April 3, 2010
The Easter Bunny joins us each year to celebrate the hunt for easter eggs with the children of Story City. With help from the Roland-Story High School FCCLA, kids enjoy games, face painting, pictures with the bunny, and hunting for eggs. Held at the Factory Stores of America Mall from 10:00 am until noon.
Celebrate Iowa Wine and Beer
April 23, 2010
Story City Historical Society and GCC invite you to sample several wine and beer made right here and our beautiful state of Iowa. Featuring a minimum of 5 Iowa Wineries and 2 Iowa Breweries. Sponsored by Iowa Wine and Beer.Tickets are $15 or $20 (includes souvenir tasting glass) for wine samples, food, and music. Held at the Factory Stores of America Outlet Mall.
Progressive Dinner in the Shops

Sample appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, and desserts at over twenty downtown merchants. A great social event with proceeds benefiting community projects.Tickets are only $10.
Scandinavian Days

Celebrating 45 years of our community-wide festival, Scandinavian Days offers something for the entire family. Drawing on the traditions of our Norwegian families, our Heritage Hall gives a taste of the foods, crafts, and stories of Scandinavia. Cruisin' to the Carousel and Skunk River Duck Race
August 28 2010
Celebrate our 1913 Antique Carousel and enjoy a stroll through park and the classic cars from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. There will be face painting and crafts for the children, a turkey grill, and lots of carousel rides. $5 per classic car. Free to the general public. Then the ducks will race across the street down the Skunk River at 7:00 pm. Thousand of dollars in prizes to be won if your duck is speedy! Buy a chance on a duck for only $5 or a six-quack for $25.
STORY! Celebrating the Art of Storytelling

What better place to have a storytelling festival than Story City! Well-known storytellers from throughout the midwest join Story City for workshops, storytelling concerts, open mic, matinees, and STORY! stops in the shops with stories of humor, faith, friendship, and tradition.
