Antique Carousel 1913 Hershell-Spillman Carousel with antique 1936 Wurlitzer Military Band Organ. The Story City Carousel features rooster, pigs and dogs in addition to horses.
North Park
Come ride our 1913 Antique Carousel as it whirls to the merry calliope tunes generated by a 1936 Wurlitzer Military Band Organ. This summer, come buy a bag of popcorn, climb aboard the carousel, and be a part of the magic that exists among the brass poles. Fun for all ages! Open noon daily Memorial Day through Labor Day and weekends in May and September.
Hours:  Monday & Tuesday:  Noon - 6:00 p.m.
               Wednesday through Sunday:  Noon - 9:00 p.m.
 
Historic Story Theatre/Grand Opera House The 1913 historic Story Theatre/Grand Opera House is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Moviesare shown Fridays through Sundays at 7 p.m. unless a live theatre production is going on. Judge Story's Theatrical Troupe performs live theatre, musicals, dinner theatre and children's productions.

Opened in 1913, the historic Story Theatre is the oldest continually operating theatre in Iowa. With its restored Grand Opera House stage, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Live theatre productions are presented several times each year by the Judge Story Theatrical Troupe, and motion pictures are presented each weekend on the largest screen in Story County.

1859 One-Room Schoolhouse Step back in time with Story City 1859 one-room schoolhouse from southern Hamilton County.
Corner of Broad St. and Hillcrest Drive
This one-room schoolhouse was the first public learning institution in southern Hamilton County. It contains vintage stove, desks, books and other memorabilia. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 1 -4 p.m. each Sunday, other times by appointment.

Constructed in the early 1930s under President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s WPA
program, this charming swinging bridge spans the Skunk River in Story City’s picturesque South Park.
 
1903 Bartlett Museum & Carriage House Bartlett Museum contains period furniture of early Story City life. On National Registry of Historic Places.
619 Grand
Queen Anne style home furnished with period furniture depicting early life in Story City.  Open Sundays Memorial Day through Labor Day from 1 - 4 pm.  Available by request for luncheons, weddings and meetings year-round.  Now on the National Register of Historic Places!

Newly built in 2007 is our Carriage House, which reflects a utility building of the early 1900's, and provides added space for our major collections.

Prairie Park Located in Story City, Story County, Iowa. Hiking Trails, variety of flowers and butterflies.
Broad Street
Admission is free.  Hours are Dawn to Dusk daily.  The park features 3,000’ of 5’ wide mowed hiking trails with a variety of plants and butterflies in abundance.  Click on the Prairie Park link above to see a learn more.
